Yarnbombing – Call to arms!

Really a lovely thing to do with those leftovers that pile up in all our stashes.
– I already made 23 flowers, who’s got more? šŸ˜€

At last IĀ reveal the secret projectā€¦ and a request for a little help!

I work in a lovely little family-orientated GP surgery and I thought it would make our patients smile if we could yarn bomb the place with colourful flowers and wildlife animals and create aĀ ā€˜Fantasy Gardenā€™, andĀ I thought why not ask for some help from my wonderful blogging friends.

  • Can you Knit or Crochet?
  • Do you own a yarn stash?
  • Then maybe you would be able to help.

If you think you may be able to help makeĀ this crazy idea a reality at our little surgery, please email me atĀ TheGrangeRange@hotmail.comĀ and let me know whether you knit or crochet and if you would like any pattern links.

Coffee Table 2 : 0 The Princess

Hey folks,

I finally got back to my pastime activities after a very stressful move into a lovely new apartment and lots and lots of studies. Now I’m through all that hassle, I’ll update you on the little somethings I made in the meantime (not much, really) and look out for new projects. Haven’t located my sketchbook, though, yet, it must still be hiding somewhere between books and board games, I suppose.

Anyhow, my prime concern right now is that huge eyesore of a coffee table I was given by my father. Don’t get me wrong, I like the table a lot due to its “retro” shape and stuff but the plastic surface didn’t get any prettier after removing that huge ancient rock band sticker. Anyway, it needs to be covered up with something less offensive to the eyeballs and naturally since I’m a terribly stingy crafty person, I went to make a triangular afghan from leftover yarns piling up in my yarn closet. (Which is worthy of it’s own post, really).

Eh.

Hey folks,

I really meant to update Friday with my newly-finished sweater but then I was all busy with exams and renovating my soon-to-be apartment. Never thought picking carpets and wall paint and having the old sofa upholstered in a matching fabric would be that exhausting! -.-

So today, I sat around all day trying to come up with new ideas for spring and stuff but except from pushing yarn around on the floor nothing much happened. Since that didn’t work, I tried to at least work on my WIPs but, well, let’s just say it was rather fruitless and I got even more disgruntled with myself. Leafing through books didn’t help, either.

All I came to think of was wondering if everyone keeps piling up these tiny leftover skeins and what other people do with these. What do you folks do with your leftover yarn? What projects will you start in spring?

To not have made an entirely useless post, I’ll share one of my favourite free pattern resources with you! Those look really neat arranged on a porcelain etagere and make very nice gifts, too.

All My Unfinished Business

Every time someone is at my place, they start asking how many projects I’m actually working on at the same time and I can’t tell them because there’s so many I simply lose track of all of them. ^.^;

However, I do believe that always just working on one project a time inhibits your creativity. That way, when one work seems to become tedious, I may simply choose something else to put my time into. Sometimes, I take my stuff along with me and you can knit on the train much easier than doing embroidery, right? Also, I also seem to prefer certain crafts depending on the season, and right now, knitting keeps my hands warm! Anyone else feeling that way?
